FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Friends of the Library is back at the Exeter branch!
It has been a long couple of years since the last Friends
disbanded and left the library without
extra monetary support.
We sponsor daily book sales
at the Exeter Library and also have yearly
sales at community events, such as Fall Festival
and 4th of July celebrations.

OUR CITY
Exeter is located in Tulare County in the San Joaquin Valley
of Central California, near the foothills of the
Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
The city celebrated its centennial on March 2, 2011.
In 1888 a representative of Southern Pacific Railroad, D.W. Parkhurst,
bought land from John Firebaugh, who was an early settler,
and thus the town of Exeter was founded,
Parkhurst naming it after his hometown of Exeter, England.

OUR MURALS
Exeter is famous for its murals all through the downtown area. These lovely depictions came about to draw tourists to the town during an economic recession. After the City commissioned the first mural, all subsequent paintings have been funded by private individuals and local businesses.
